For the Future

17/5/2019

May 11 on television, some youth asked for the population's support by participating in the Climate Change March. In solidarity with them, some FMM partook in this event on May 17. For 14 consecutive Fridays, the the collective society Pour le futur organized these demonstrations where hundreds of young people took to the streets, rain or shine, to cry out to the governments. The march covered a quite a spectrum of society with grandmothers, young mothers with their babies, fathers with their children, and parents with their teenagers. All are concerned of their children's future as we find ourselves already in the midst of climate change effects. For the most part, it was made up of high school and university students worried over the government's lack of actions on this matter. https://enjeu.qc.ca/plf-17-mai/

Sr. Rita Kim celebrates Easter with the Piikani nation in Alberta

21/4/2019

Sr. Rita Kim, as part of her mandate on the Mission Council of the diocese of Calgary, had the joy of celebrating Easter among the Piikani, one of the four first nations parishes in the diocese. Mass was a festive affair and the sanctuary was decorated in traditional native manner with the tabernacle in the shape of a teepee. The community gathered in the parish hall for the Easter meal and the Easter egg decoration.  Thank you Sr. Rita for this ministry among our native brothers and sisters.

60th, 70th, and 75th Jubilees in Montreal, Quebec

19/3/2019

On March 19 2019, the community of Sacré-Coeur celebrated a mass of thanksgiving for our jubilarians Denyse Delisle, Hélène Dufour, Jacqueline d'Argy and Roseda Mendes (60 years), of Patricia Saint-Cyr and Rita Provencher (70 years), of Albertine Roy (75 years). During the offertory, one of the jubilarians brought a lit candle as a symbol while its meaning was given:

The lamp that we bring to the altar represents the life of each of our jubilarian sisters. The continual supply of the small drops of oil has made the light of Christ, which is in them, shine throughout their lives. These drops of oil have been and always remain all the little
things of everyday life: joy, generosity, kindness, humility and patience. The way to be silent, to pray, listen, welcome, forgive, act and encourage. These are the genuine little drops of love that have made, and continue to make, the life of each of our Jubilarian sisters burn with a lively flame.
